Join the League

Send an email to the league at scout@nswhl.ca. Include your name, age, contact information and your most recent level of play. Tell us a bit about yourself so we can help you find the right team for you!

To join the league as an individual player, you can contact the team you want to play on, or if you have no preference, you can contact the league directly.

Teams will add new players, as needed, to fill their roster. Cost depends on the team and can range from as low as $250 to about $400 depending on where the team plays. The expected average for HRM based players is in the $385 range.

The fee for an individual player includes a 22 game regular season schedule of 90 minute games (October – March) plus three or four playoff games in April. Players provide all of their own gear (neck guards are mandatory) but their team will provide a uniform.

Our league is committed to ensuring that teams and players of all skill levels can find competitive play within the NSWHL.

Would you like to enter a whole team into the league?

To enter a whole team, a representative must write a letter to the league by August 15th.

The league requires an entrance fee of $850, payable after your team is admitted to the league. Entering as a team from outside HRM will require arranging 10-12 "home ice" times. It is best to discuss this with the league in advance of submitting the letter as there are requirements regarding time of day and dates for these ice times.

For a team to join they must write a letter of intent to the league by August 15th. Then at the pre-season league council meeting it is discussed and a vote is held to admit the new team. If you are thinking about putting a new team in the league it is best to contact us as soon as possible so we can help with the process.

Send an email to the league at info@nswhl.ca. Include a roster and coaches list, ice time (if you have any) and contact information.
